Somewhere in between the 4th June and the 14th August (according to the catalogue) I visited Andrea Joseph's Strictly Ballpoint exhibition at the Buxton Museum and Gallery. I'd seen the work on her sketchblog when I went through my 'draw everything in biro' stage and fell in love with her drawings then, but I don't think I realised just how they'd look in real life! As the title of the exhibition suggests, she works mainly with ballpoint pens and manages to produce fantastic pieces in so much detail! It's nice to think that something so ordinary and everyday like a biro can be used to create such beautiful work when used in the right way!
